Jeronimo Roura - Chief Executive Officer
Jeronimo joined MENA Infrastructure in June 2010 as Investment Director, was promoted to Managing Director in January 2013, and became CEO of Mena Infrastructure in June 2014. He has over 17 years of experience in infrastructure. Jeronimo joined MENA Infrastructure from the GMR Group, where he was Head of Structured Finance for the international businesses, having previously worked for Abertis, the Spanish toll road operator, as Head of Structured Finance, and previously for Citigroup in London as Vice President in the Infrastructure Team of the investment bank, and as Associate in the Structured Corporate Finance group with a focus on project finance. Jeronimo has led a number of brownfield and greenfield transactions and financings in the infrastructure space, including roads, airports, and power generation, and has substantial experience in structuring, due diligence, financing and valuation. Jeronimo holds an MBA from IESE Business School, and a Bachelor in Business Administration from ESADE Business School.
Mark Lemmon - Executive Vice Chairman
Mark, the Executive Vice Chairman of MENA Infrastructure, was CEO of MENA Infrastructure from April 2008 to July 2014. He was previously the Deputy Chief Executive of HSBC’s global Project and Export finance business, responsible for growing that business over recent years to its current pre-eminent position in infrastructure and energy finance. He has substantial experience leading business development and winning and executing financing mandates across transportation, social infrastructure, power, water and energy sectors throughout the Middle East and elsewhere. An investment banker and investor of 30 years, he is a chartered accountant and holds a master’s degree in finance from the London School of Economics.
Isabelle Demir - Investment Director
Isabelle Demir has over 13 years combined experience leading and executing infrastructure investments and corporate finance transactions. Ms. Demir joined MENA Infrastructure from HSBC London where she was a Director in the Power, Utilities & Renewables team covering Africa, Turkey and Europe. Ms. Demir has worked with numerous FTSE100 and S&P500 companies, Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds and financial investors. Notable transactions included the privatization of electricity generation and distribution assets in Turkey and Northumbrian Water acquisition in the UK. Prior to that, Ms. Demir was an Investment Manager at Babcock and Brown where she was involved in executing investments and fundraising. Isabelle has also worked at ABN Amro in their Corporate & Structured Finance team in Sydney. Ms. Demir holds degrees in Commerce (Hons) and Law (Hons) from the University of Sydney and is a qualified legal practitioner.
Nizar Qallab - Investment Director
Nizar Qallab is an infrastructure investment professional with over 13 years of experience. Mr. Qallab joined MENA Infrastructure from Exotix Partners, a frontier and emerging market investment firm where Mr. Qallab helped raise the MENA region’s first subordinated debt infrastructure fund. Prior to Exotix, Mr. Qallab headed infrastructure at JD Capital, one of the most active and successful infrastructure investors in the MENA region. In this position, Mr. Qallab was responsible for the divestment of an infrastructure portfolio consisting of controlling stakes in one power generation (CEGCO) and two power distribution companies (EDCO and IDECO) which generated above industry average returns. Mr. Qallab has also worked on several greenfield project finance transactions including the Al Qatrana IPP, Al Kamsha Wind IPP and the Aqaba Port build-operate-transfer. Mr. Qallab holds an MA in international Trade & Investment Policy from The George Washington University and B.Sc. In Business Management from King’s College.
Guillaume Bremond - Associate
Guillaume Bremond joined MENA Infrastructure from Deutsche Bank in London, where Mr. Bremond was an analyst for 3 years. Mr. Bremond was involved in major mergers and acquisitions of Consumer and Retail companies in EMEA and in Asia. Mr. Bremond has significant experience in valuation, financial analysis and financial modelling. Mr. Bremond holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and a Masters of Science degree in Corporate Finance from EDHEC Business School.
Tashfen Yasin - Associate Director, Finance
Tashfen Yasin joined MENA Infrastructure as Financial Controller and was promoted to Associate Director, Finance in February 2015. Mr. Yasin joined MENA Infrastructure from PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dubai and Karachi, where he worked for 9 years. Mr. Yasin has significant experience in finance, investor reporting, assurance and accounting for private equities, banks and financial services companies in the Middle East and Pakistan. Mr. Yasin is also responsible for valuation, portfolio management, financial analysis and due diligence of investments at MENA Infrastructure.
